Its many faces
The Zonta Club of Victoria BC is a member club of Zonta International, District 8. Founded in 1919, Zonta International is a global service organization of executives in business and the professions working together, across political and social boundaries, to advance the status of women worldwide.
Zonta International members volunteer their time, talents and money to local and international service programs, as well as scholarship and award programs aimed at furthering women's education, leadership and youth development.
January 26 meeting
Dinner Meeting 5:30 pm at University Club, University of Victoria
Guest speaker- Stephanie Capyk- clinical supervisor and manager at the Victoria Women's Sexual Assault Centre. Since 1997, Stephanie has followed a path focussed on supporting women's safety through community-based research, counselling survivors of sexualized and domestic violence, and facilitating learning about trauma. , healing and reconnecting with each other and the natural world. In recent years, her practice has shifted to supporting counsellors as a trainer and clinical supervisor. She recently was contacted by the Association of Human Rights of Women to provide a series of workshops for counsellors in Japan, and is a gues lecturer at the UBC Midwifery Programme. She has a masters degree in counselling psychology from the University of Victoria.
